Walls are up and sheathing is almost complete. Roofing in a day or so.
Did some clean up below the cabin today as well. A few dead trees were pushed over by Mischa and Brendon.
Mischa is now living in number two.

Old Gold Mine Hermitage
What's this all about?
The Old Gold Mine Hermitage (OGM) is a 501(c)3 non-profit company set up in Washington state for the purpose of providing a setting and support for serious meditators to come and do personal retreat - to become "hermits".
The two principals are Brian Johnson & Roger Fox. We've been collaborating on this mission since we did some building together at Wat Metta - a monastery near San Diego. We are deeply interested in meditation as a path to spiritual awakening. OGM is here to help those who are ready for the rigors and rewards of isolated self-retreat.
When we get around to it there will be more on on website at oldgoldmine.org
OGM is using 40 acres of rolling forested hills nestled between the eastern Cascade mountains and the Columbia Mountains of North-Central Washington. We picked this area because it is beautiful, remote, quiet, and we got a great deal on a perfect piece of land for this project. It had a barn, a house and a well when we started in 2007.
This blog records various events related to setting up suitable facilities for our recluse-minded visitors. So far it has mostly been about building cabins in the woods.
OGM is a 501(c)3 public charity corporation. Donations to OGM are tax-deductible. We appreciate your support.
